The Town of Erie is located on the northern fringe of the Denver-Boulder Metropolitan area. Located less than twenty five minutes from downtown Denver via Interstate 25, and even closer to Boulder, Erie is ideally situated in the heart of Colorado's major business and population centers as well as premier educational and research facilities. The completion of the Northwest Parkway with E-470 just two miles from Erie, has cut the travel time to Denver International Airport (DIA) to thirty-five minutes. Additionally, the Erie Municipal Airport provides a full range of services for corporate and general aviation aircraft.
Erie is just minutes from Boulder, Longmont and several other communities along the Front Range. It lies within both Boulder and Weld Counties.
