    1. Tell us about your business.

We offer high quality FUN dance education for ages 3 to adult, for all levels, in a variety of dance forms at reVel dance center. Participating in the dance is all about instilling creativity with a strong foundation of training and education.  We strive to cultivate confidence and discipline, all while engaging students' hearts and minds in the moment.

    2. When, why and how did you start your business?

We opened just last October in 2018 in Erie! I have taught dance for the past two decades in a variety of settings including recreational dance studios, professional dance companies, as well as at Universities (as an Assistant Professor of Dance as well as serving as Guest Artist in residencies). I have always had a passion for teaching and my business partner Doug and I decided it was time to invest locally in creating my own positive and nurturing dance program ... reVel dance center!!

    3. Give us an example of a time you went above and beyond to provide good customer service.

My students and the families that support the studio are my customers, but they are more than just that. They are an integral part of our small business and the well-being of my students in terms of their personal learning and development inspires me each and every day!  It's not just about customer service, it's about cultivating a community, giving back, and spreading joy through the arts.

    4. Tell us about a chamber event you enjoyed and found memorable - and why.

I love attending the Concerts in the Park each year.  It’s a fun community-based event with great music, food and friends!

    5. What's something few people know about you or your business?

Learning dance is like learning a language ... the more forms of dance you learn the more you can communicate. We strive to make connections between dance techniques to create more well-rounded dancer. reVel dance center offers punch card and drop-in classes over the summer for ages 11 to adult to help dancers take class throughout their busy summer travel plans.

    6. How has joining the Chamber benefited you?

The Chamber is super supportive both when we were initially starting as a business and now that we are more established. They connect you with the community of other small businesses and with potential customers. The Chamber provides resources in a multitude of ways including networking opportunities, marketing events and more and overall want to see you succeed!

    7. What have you discovered about Erie that pleasantly surprised you?

The small-town feel of Erie and the wonderful people that make up this community are incredible! There is always something to do and experience.
